Toga Toga Toga Euthanized

Toga Toga Toga, who won the 1997 Santa Monica Handicap (gr. I), was euthanized in late November after fracturing a leg in an accident at Bruce Gibbs' Greenfield Farm near Lexington. The 9-year-old mare was in foal to Pulpit.

Toga Toga Toga (Saratoga Six -- Northern Neck, by Northern Baby) won seven of 18 races and earned $374,490. As a broodmare, she produced three foals, all bred by Stanley J. Bell and Rita F. Bell.

Her first foal is Dubai Tiger, named by Sheikh Mohammed after golfer Tiger Woods. Purchased by Sheikh Mohammed at the 2000 Keeneland September sale for $1.8 million, Dubai Tiger ran third in his only start this year at two. He was originally sold for $900,000 as a weanling.

Toga Toga Toga also is the dam of a yearling Seeking the Gold colt purchased at the 2001 Keeneland summer sale for $510,000 by Bob and Beverly Lewis, and a filly by Danzig foaled this year.
