Scenic and Danehill first shuttled in 1990, the former starting the first of his five Irish seasons the following year. He has also worked at Coolmore's New South Wales base and the Hayes family's Lindsay Park in South Australia. Raced by Sheikh Maktoum, Scenic is a first generation Sadler's Wells and provided the first of his sire's 54 individual grade I/group I winners.
Consistently solid results has seen former shuttler Scenic welcomed back to the eastern seaboard after three years in Western Australia. The best performed sire son of Sadler's Wells in the south will return to Collingrove in Victoria at a fee of $20,000 (Australian funds).Collingrove is jointly owned by the Sangster and Hayes families and Robert Sangster bred closely related Derby winners Blevic and Universal Prince from the one-time Coolmore resident, before the horse found himself on the west coast in 1999. Colin Hayes sold the then 13-year-old to David Smith of Durham Lodge, the deal brokered through agent Mark Pilkington then based in Perth. Now in Victoria, Pilkington also organized the return of last season's runner-up to Danehill by Australian earnings.
