Nice Boots Baby Makes First Start for Farish in Dearly Precious

Nice Boots Baby will make her first start for new owner Bill Farish in Saturday's $75,000 Dearly Precious Stakes going six furlongs at Aqueduct.

Farish purchased Nice Boots Baby, following her 2 1/2-length win in the Ruthless Stakes on Jan. 6th. The Storm Boot filly remains in the barn of her former owner, trainer Anthony Dutrow.

Nice Boots Baby, out of the Premiership mare Foxfire Lass, is the runner to beat Saturday. After wiring a field of maidens at Laurel, the filly came to Aqueduct and led all the way to take a $50,000 allowance. She then showed new dimensions in winning the Ruthless, coming from slightly off the pace to win under regular rider Mario Pino.

Dutrow has also entered Skeedattle Stable's Touch Love, but is likely to only run Nice Boots Baby. The conditioner said he is looking to run Touch Love in the $75,000 Busher at 1 1/16 miles on March 2nd.

Stoneway Farm's Proper Gamble finished second to Nice Boots Baby in the Ruthless and will be looking to turn the tables Saturday. The Prospectors Gamble filly won her first two starts, including a track-record setting maiden win going 5 1/2 furlongs at The Meadowlands. Following an allowance win at Belmont, Proper Gamble returned in 24 days and ran fourth in the Valley Stream (gr. III).

The field for Saturday's $75,000 Dearly Precious includes: Nice Boots Baby (Mario Pino, 122); Vesta (Aaron Gryder, 118); Touch Love (Mario Pino, 120): Proper Gamble (Richard Migliore, 118); Lost Expectations (Norberto Arroyo Jr., 116); and Dancing Blue (Mike Luzzi, 118).
