Record-Setter Love At Noon Retired

Mike Pegram's Love At Noon, who set a track record at Churchill Downs, has been retired because of a suspensory problem. The announcement of her retirement came following a fourth-place finish as the heavy favorite at Santa Anita March 6. Love at Noon (Afternoon Deelites--Lemhi Love, by Royal and Regal) is expected to arrive at John Sikura's Hill 'n' Dale Farms near Lexington this weekend. Breeding plans are undecided.

Bred by Ray Stark, Love At Noon set a track mark of 1:14.34 at 6 1/2 furlongs at Churchill in her second start. She ran second in the Princess (gr. II) and Dogwood (gr. III) Stakes, and third in the La Brea Stakes (gr. I). Love At Noon retires with two wins from seven starts and earnings of $132,675.
