Macho Uno Returns in Saturday Allowance

Stronach Stable's Macho Uno will make his first start since finishing fourth in the Breeders' Cup Classic in a one mile and 70 yard allowance race at Gulfstream Park Saturday. Macho Uno's race is scheduled as the ninth race on a 10-race card and will re run just after the featured Pan American Handicap (gr. IIT).

The last time the 2000 Eclipse Award winner started he earned $224,000 for finishing fourth, in his return race Saturday the total purse is just $46,000. The $1.3 million earner began his 3-year-old campaign in allowance company, finishing second in a seven-furlong race last August. He then proceeded to win the Pennsylvania Derby (gr. II), before finishing third in Western Pride's Ohio Derby (gr. II). The Breeders' Cup Juvenile (gr. I) winner has won four of eight career starts.

Rene Douglas will be in the irons Saturday.
