Dover Downs Spins Off Gaming Operations

The horse racing and casino operations of Dover Downs Entertainment has been formally spun off and is now trading on its own as Dover Downs Gaming & Entertainment.

Trading on the new company began today at $13.12 on the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker "DDE." Dover Downs Gaming and Entertainment operates the Dover Downs Raceway harness track and an 80,000 square-foot video lottery casino complex that includes a hotel and conference center.

The other part of the company, Dover Motorsports, will continue trading under the companyês former "DVD" ticker symbol. Dover Motorsports operates four permanent tracks and three temporary circuits in six states including the new Nashville Superspeedway and the Dover International Speedway. The company promotes events sanctioned by NASCAR (stock car), Championship Auto Racing Teams and Indy Racing League (both open-wheel high-performance cars), and the National Hot Rod Association.
