Grand Slam filly worked the fastest quarter-mile during Monday's sale preview at Keeneland.
A surface labeled as fast and a brisk tailwind contributed to fast times Monday during the first under tack show for Keeneland's April sale of 2-year-olds in training.

A filly from the first crop of Touch Gold was the fastest worker at three furlongs, stopping the clock in an impressive :32 4/5. Produced from the stakes-placed Strike Gold mare Penny's Growl, the filly is a half-sister to stakes winner Dabney Carr (by Lost Code) and to grade III stakes-placed Don't Fear the Heat (by Dawn Quixote). Consigned by Tony Bowling and Bobby Dodd, she was purchased as a weanling by The Narrows for $85,000 at the 2000 Keeneland November breeding stock sale.

A filly from the first crop of Grand Slam was the fastest worker at a quarter mile, stopping the clock in :20 4/5. Produced from the winning Ogygian mare Starr County, the chestnut filly is a half-sister to grade III stales-placed Gygistar (by Prospector's Music). Consigned by Niall Brennan, agent, she was purchased for $260,000 at the 2001 Saratoga yearling sale by Waterside Stable.

A colt by Unbridled's Song and a Boston Harbor filly named Sherunsstheharbor turned in the fastest eighth of a mile works, both covering the distance in :10.

The Unbridled colt's dam, the winning Miswaki mare Whatamiss, is a half-sister to grade II winner Star of the Crop. Consigned by Robert Scanlon, the colt was purchased for $300,000 at the 2001 Keeneland September yearling sale.

Produced from the unraced Mr. Prospector mare Sierra Madre, Sherunstheharbor is a half-sister to Sun Cat (by Tabasco Cat), runner-up in the Derby Trial (gr. II) and Lafayette Stakes. The filly is consigned by Donna Wormser, who purchased her for $32,000 at last year's Keeneland September sale.

On the grass, the fastest workers were:

A Spinning World--Plentiful filly, a Mister Baileys--Shadow Music filly named Lyrical Liquor; an Arch--Affability filly, and a Cozzene--Green Heights colt who all went an eighth in :10 1/5.

A Theatrical--Halo River filly who went a quarter in :21.

Tne second and final under tack show is scheduled for Monday, April 15, beginning at 10:30 a.m. (EDT). The sale will be held on April 16, beginning at 1:30 p.m. (EDT).
