"Eventually, some will be going to Chicago, some to Saratoga and some will be at Del Mar," Harty said.
This year's mass invasion of Godolphin-owned 2-year-olds is now complete, American-based trainer Eoin Harty said Thursday. A total of 52 juveniles are now in California, with roughly half currently stabled at Fairplex Park and the others still in quarantine at Hollywood Park. The latter group will join their stablemates as soon as they clear quarantine in a couple days, Harty said. "The first load arrived on (April) 6th and are now training, and the rest arrived late last night," Harty said. "They'll all be up at (Fairplex) until racing ends at Santa Anita and then they'll be shipped there for the time being." Among the more notable names who will spend the summer and fall in the U.S. are Absent Friend, a colt by Runaway Groom who is a half-brother to grade I winner Dreams Gallore; Alajwad, a colt by Storm Cat--La Affirmed, making him a half to graded/group winners Bernstein, Country Cat and Caress; Anasheed, a colt by A.P. Indy out of group I winner Flagbird; Double Strike, a colt by A.P. Indy out of multiple grade I winner Twice the Vice; Endeavouring, a colt by A.P. Indy--Nice Assay, who is a half-brother to top Kentucky Derby (gr. I) hopeful Came Home; Arctic Drift, a daughter of Gone West and grade I winner November Snow; and Joharra, a filly by Kris S. who is a half-sister to champion Tempera.
