Fourteen-year-old Shadayid (Shadeed--Desirable, by Lord Gayle) produced seven named foals, including stakes winners Bint Shadayid and Alshadiyah. She is also is the dam of an A.P. Indy yearling colt.
Sheikh Hamdan's champion and stakes producer Shadayid died April 27 from a ruptured uterine artery after she foaled a Seeking the Gold filly. The filly has been placed on a nurse mare at the owner's Shadwell Farm in Central Kentucky. Bred in the Shadwell name, Shadayid was a champion in England and France as a 2-year-old and a classic winner in England the following year, capturing the mile General Accident One Thousand Guineas (Eng-I). She was retired with five wins and five group I stakes-placings from 11 starts and earnings of $671,520.
