Beat Hollow, a winner of four of six entering the Woodford Reserve Turf Classic (gr. IT), added another win to his tally Saturday at Churchill Downs. Under Alex Solis, he sat in second through most of the race, then eased to the lead down the lane in the nine-furlong turf race.
The 5-year-old Sadler's Wells horse was already a group I winner, taking the Grand Prix de Paris in France as a 3-year-old. In the Epsom Derby (Eng-I) that year, he finished third to Sinndar and Sakhee.
Beat Hollow had made two previous starts in this country, most recently being beaten just a neck in the Explosive Bid (gr. IIT) at Fair Grounds.
