Tails of the Crypt, listed as a possible starter for the Belmont Stakes, finished second Saturday in the $162,750 Marine Stakes (Can-III) at Woodbine. The Kentucky-bred son of Regal Classic finished 1 3/4 lengths behind Anglian Prince in the 1 1/16-mile test for 3-year-olds.Emile Ramsammy, who rode the Jam Jar Racing Stable's runner to second-place finishes in both the Sam F. Davis Stakes and Tampa Bay Derby (gr. III) was aboard Tails of the Crypt again Saturday. Jim McAleney rode the Mort Hardy-trained winner, completing the course in 1:44.03 on a fast track."I thought we could sit back and stalk the pace today," said McAleney. "He likes to come from off the pace, but he wanted to be closer today. That's the way he decided he wanted it."When asked about Onatrio-bred Anglian Prince's chances in the Queens Plate, McAleney said, "We've got a chance now."Sent off at just over 23-1, Anglian Prince returned $48.30 for the win and topped a $206.20 exacta. The gelded son of Tejano Run is owned by Prime Acres and was bred by D. J. Reddington.Meanwhile, another horse listed by Belmont Park as a possible starter in the third leg of the Triple Crown has been entered in Thursday's feature race at Hollywood Park – the $75,000 Alydar Stakes. Azillion, who finished second to Kentucky Derby third-place finisher Perfect Drift in the Spiral Stakes, is one of five horses set to contest the 1 1/8-mile Alydar. Since his neck-length defeat in the Spiral, Azillion finished last of six in the Blue Grass Stakes while ridden by Corey Nakatani. Eddie Delahoussaye, who rode Perfect Drift in the Spiral and Derby, will guide the Irish-bred colt from gate three.
