Green Group Slated for Five-furlong Flash

With eight juvenile colts going in the five-furlong Flash Stakes (gr. III), anything can happen. The most seasoned of the field, Down Play, Mason City, and Renegade Warrior, have started twice apiece, White Mercedes has never raced, and the remaining colts have started once. Many of them were also unemcumbered in their last race--Renegade Warrior broke his maiden on April 21 by 10 1/4 at Pimlico. Windsor Lodge won on May 16 by 4 1/2 lengths over Whywhywhy.

Trainer Todd Pletcher will send out both Windsor Lodge and Mason City for the race. Pletcher saddled the 1999 winner, More Than Ready. That was the first year the race had been run since 1982. Timothy Tullock, who won last year's running of the Flash with S.J.B. Stable, will send out Renegade Warrior for the same outfit this year.

The field and jockeys from the rail out. All will carry 114 pounds.
