Hires Exec Away from Disney has hired Gary Sproule, a former Disney executive, as its chief financial officer.

Sproule most recently served as chief financial officer for Disney Interactive where he had a worldwide financial responsibility for strategic planning, operations, administration, and information technology. Disney Interactive, which is part of the Disney Consumer Products division, distributes internationally a variety of interactive entertainment, educational and sports games, many of them based on Disney animated films and featuring Disney characters.

Prior to Disney, Sproule was CFO of and of Magnet Interactive Communications. He also spent 25 years with the oil and gas company Unocal where he last position was chief operating officer for the 76 Products marketing division.

"We are very privileged to have recruited a person of Gary's talent and experience" said David Marshall, chief executive officer and co-founder of, an interactive horse racing and wagering service based in California.

In other news, the company has made a marketing agreement with the California Authority of Racing Fairs (CARF). Under the terms of the agreement, the company will market its products and services at live California fair and association meets, be part of direct mail promotions to CARF customers, and provide online links between and CARF Web sites.

" promotion will be prominent on CARF tracks and in all CARF simulcast signals," Marshall said.

CARF conducts county fair race meets at San Joaquin, Alameda, Solano, Sonoma, Humboldt, and San Mateo, in addition to the California State Fair and Fresno District Fair.
