Preakness Stakes (gr. I) fifth-place finisher Easyfromthegitgo was installed as the 3-1 favorite for Saturday's $250,000 Leonard Richards Stakes (gr. III) at Delaware Park. James Cassels and Bob Zollars' son of Dehere nine rivals in the 1 1/16-mile race, including fellow Preakness runner Menacing Dennis.
Steve Asmussen-trained Easyfromthegitgo will start from post seven under regular rider Donnie Meche as he attempts to earn his first victory since the one-mile Lecomte Stakes at the Fair Grounds in late January. The $125,000 yearling purchase has won three of 10 career races.
Menacing Dennis finished tenth in the Preakness and has yet win a stakes race. The Jeff Bonde-trained gelded son of Star de Naskra did finish second in the restricted Cal Fed Snow Chief Stakes in April.
Rushaway Stakes winner Mr. Mellon is cross-entered in Saturday's Jefferson Cup Stakes (gr. IIIT) at Churchill Downs and seems more likely to run in that event.
From the rail out with trainer, jockey, weight, and morning-line odds, the Leonard Richards field will consist of:
1 -- Bag of Mischief, Nick Zito, Anthony Black, 115, 10-1
2 -- Roger E, Mark Shuman, Jeremy Rose, 115, 12-1
