Grade I Winners Top Field for First Running of the Phipps

Among the probables for Saturday's grade I Ogden Phipps Handicaps are two grade I winners and four other graded stakes horses. Homebreds Critical Eye and Raging Fever, raced by Herbert and Carol Schwartz and Edward Evans, respectively, are expected to be among those who head to the post Saturday for the 8 1/2-furlong event.

Both fillies are two-time grade I winners at Belmont, where Critical Eye won the 2001 running of this race. The Ogden Phipps offers a $300,000 purse and is open to fillies and mares three years old and up. It was formerly called the Hempstead Handicap.
Added-money winners Atelier, Mystic Lady, Shiny Band, and Two Item Limit are expected to join the field for Saturday's race. Possible entrants are Happily Unbridled, Too Scarlet, and Transcendental. Raging Fever is the current highweight with a 120 assignment.
