Nasty Storm, Interest Only Square Off at Turfway

Multiple graded-stakes winner Nasty Storm will square off against up-and-coming Interest Only Sept. 7 in the $75,000 Weekend Delight Stakes, the first stakes of the Turfway Park fall meet. A field of 12 has been entered in the six-furlong test for fillies and mares.

In 2001, the Weekend Delight started a three-race win streak for 4-year-old Nasty Storm, who is trained by Dallas Stewart. Though only one-for-five this year, Nasty Storm, owned by Elser, McDonald, and Riccelli, has faced the likes of Gold Mover, Raging Fever, and Shine Again, who are among the top female sprinters in the country.

Richard, Bertram, and Elaine Klein's Interest Only has won her last three starts, including the Ellis Park Breeders' Cup Handicap. Trained by Steve Flint, Interest Only, also a 4-year-old, has four victories and two seconds in seven career starts.

Trainer D. Wayne Lukas, who has won the Turfway fall meet training title eight times, will saddle Overbrook Farm's City Fair, who was third in last year's Weekend Delight. The 4-year-old filly has only raced once outside of stakes competition this year in 10 starts; she finished second to Eclipse Award winner Xtra Heat twice in the Interborough Handicap at Aqueduct.

Here's the field, in post-position order, with jockeys and morning-line odds:

So Enticing Jose Ferrer 12-1
Nasty Storm Jon Court 5-2
City Fair Greta Kuntzweiler 6-1
Bo's Sister Jose Martinez Jr. 30-1

Keepondealing Rodney Prescott 12-1
Golden Encounter Lonnie Meche 30-1
For Rubies Larry Melancon 4-1

So Enticing and Keepondealing are both trained by Bernie Flint and will be coupled for wagering purposes.
