Macho Uno Vanning to Arlington

(From track report)
Stronach Stable's Macho Uno, the Eclipse Award-winning juvenile colt in 2000, was due to arrive at Arlington Park Wednesday in anticipation of the Washington Park Handicap (gr. II) Sept. 29.

Trained by Joseph Orseno, Macho Uno, who bested 2001 Horse of the Year Point Given in the Breeders' Cup Juvenile (gr. I) on his way to 2-year-old honors two years ago, worked five furlongs in 1:02 2/5 handily Monday at Woodbine Race Course. The work, originally scheduled for Sunday, was postponed when the main track at the Ontario oval was closed for training that day due to inclement weather.

In his last trip to the post in the Whitney Handicap (gr. I) at Saratoga Aug. 3, Macho Uno finished fourth, beaten less than three lengths. Earlier in the summer, the son of Holy Bull had won the Massachusetts Handicap (gr. II) at Suffolk Downs June 1.

Macho Uno is being vanned to Arlington for a possible start in the 70th renewal of the Washington Park Handicap, part of "Preview Weekend at the Park." The Washington Park 'Cap will serve as the final local prep for the Breeders' Cup Classic (gr. I).
