Filly Awesome Humor Forced to Sidelines

Awesome Humor, winner of three straight graded stakes races and considered one of the favorites the Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies (gr. I), will undergo minor surgery and miss the remainder of the season, trainer Elliott Walden reported on Saturday.

Winner of the Debutante (gr. III) at Churchill Downs and the Adirondack (gr. II) and the Spinaway (gr. I) at Saratoga in her last three starts, Awesome Humor was third in the current Breeders' Cup Future Bet wagering before the announcement. She won the Spinaway Aug. 30 by 2 3/4 lengths with jockey Pat Day.

Walden and owners WinStar Farm decided to send the daughter of Distorted Humor to the sidelines because of a small bone chip found in her right front ankle, Walden said. Awesome Humor was scratched from consideration in the Future Bet shortly after Walden informed the Arlington Park racing operations of the decision.

Awesome Humor is 4-for-4 in her career with earnings $309, 115.
