Trainer A.C. Avila indicated Wednesday morning that Manhattan Express would be supplemented to Saturday's $200,000 Norfolk Stakes (gr. II) at a cost of $4,000.
"I'm going to make a decision tomorrow morning, because the owner is out of town today," said Avila. "But I'd like to supplement him. He came out of the race (at Fairplex) pretty good and sometimes you have to take a chance. It took this horse a while to find his style. He's a small horse but he's got a lot of ability."
Manhattan Express, a New York-bred son of Comet Shine, broke his maiden in the Gateway to Glory Stakes at the Pomona track on Sept. 26. Owner Melvin Ross paid $17,000 for the bay colt at the Barretts May Sale.
