A pair of grade I contests highlight Keeneland's FallStars Weekend Sun., Oct. 6. The $600,000 Shadwell Keeneland Mile features the star of the American turf this year, Beat Hollow, who comes in off his fame win in the Arlington Million (gr. I).
"Beat Hollow breezed great the other day," trainer Bobby Frankel noted. "He went 1:13 4/5 at Belmont and did it easy. I was very happy with that."
The Juddmonte homebred is by top turf sire Sadler's Wells. Gainsborough Farm's Touch of the Blues took home the Maker's Mark Mile over the Keeneland grass last spring, and possesses a dangerous closing kick. The lead figures to be inhabited by Balto Star, winner of the 2001 Arkansas Derby, and he can go all the way if left unchallenged.
