Elusive City Out For Year With Sore Shins

Elusive City, who suffered his first career defeat in the Shadwell Stud Middle Park Stakes, has been put away for the year after coming out of the race with sore shins.

The son of Elusive quality had been pointing for the Breeders' Cup Juvenile prior to his third-place finish in the Middle Park as the 6-4 favoritie.

"He came home from Newmarket with sore shins, so we'll wrap him up for the winter and prepare him for the 2,000 Guineas," trainer Gerard Butler said in the Racing Post.

In Elusive City's previous appearance prior to the Middle Park, he captured the Group 1 Prix Morny at Deauville.
