TVG announced Oct. 17 that its popular program, "The Works," sponsored by the NTRA and Breeders' Cup, will kick off the network's coverage of the 2002 Breeders' Cup World Thoroughbred Championships tomorrow with the first of seven, one-hour shows airing from 11 a.m.-noon (EDT) through Thursday, Oct. 24. The shows will be replayed beginning Saturday and continuing through Oct. 26, the day the World Thoroughbred Championships will be held at Arlington Park outside Chicago.
Hosted from Arlington by Caton Bredar with TVG analyst Frank Lyons, correspondent Jeff Lifson and well-known trainer Tom Amoss, "The Works" will offer same day coverage of morning workouts from Arlington and taped coverage from racetracks in California, New York, and Kentucky. In addition to the workouts, the program will also present interviews with owners, trainers, jockeys, and other industry figures, as well as news and features about the event.
"As we had hoped, 'The Works' is becoming an important part of the entire World Thoroughbred Championship experience," said Tony Allevato, vice president and executive producer. "It is 'must see' television for racing fans leading up to the big day. We appreciate the support and recognition of the program by NTRA and Breeders' Cup as well as numerous advertisers."
Highlights from "The Works" will also air on Trackside Live!: Oak Tree At Santa Anita, TVG's Fox Sports Net West 2 simulcast show each day.
