Tony Lovato, who has ridden with success in Texas and Louisiana, will try his hand at Santa Anita on a regular basis soon, according to his agent, Tommy Ball. Lovato, a 32-year-old native of Albuquerque, was raised in Europe and is fluent in five languages – Italian, German, Dutch, French and English. "I have two Dutch brothers and a sister who lives in Lucerne, Switzerland," said Lovato, who tacks 112 pounds. "I have family in California and wanted to try it again. I rode here when I had the 'bug' in 1991."
