Canadian Champion Exciting Story to Stud in Texas

Canadian champion Exciting Story has been retired and will enter stud at William S. Farish's Lane's End Texas near Hempstead. The 5-year-old son of Diablo will stand for $5,000 live foal.

Exciting Story, who won his Sovereign Award as a 2-year-old, won five stakes and placed in five others. His big win came in the 2001 Metropolitan Handicap (gr. I) at Belmont Park over such stars as Left Bank and Trippi. He also was a graded stakes winner in Canada two separate years and ran third in the Hopeful Stakes (gr. I) at Saratoga.

Bred by Harry T. Mangurian Jr. and raced by his Mockingbird Farm, Exciting Story retires with seven wins from 25 starts and $911,270 in earnings. His dam, Appealing Story (by Valid Appeal), produced two other stakes winners.
