From Keeneland Publicity Staff
Sunday's grade III, $125,000-added Thoroughbred Club of America Stakes at Keeneland drew a field of 11 fillies and mares.
With several entered who like to lead their races early, the edge may go to Ron and Ricki Rashinski's Vicki Vallencourt who has a patient running style. Already a Keeneland stakes winner, the daughter of Regal Classic took the 2001 Indian Summer. Her most recent victory came in the Ellis Park Breeders' Cup Handicap. Trainer Eddie Kenneally will give a leg-up to Rafael Bejarano who was aboard for that score.
Southern Pride Stable's Don't Countess Out finished second in last year's Thoroughbred Club of America to impressive runaway winner French Riviera. The daughter of Take Me Out won the Weekend Delight Stakes at Turfway Park last month for trainer Larry Jones and should have a major impact on the result. Her regular rider Terry Thompson returns to the saddle.
Trainer Albert Stall Jr. will saddle Brenda and Phillip Robertson]s Savorthetime. Winner of the Safely Kept at Arlington Park last August, the daughter of Gilded Time has been freshened for this race. She has tactical speed and an outside post position that will allow jockey Robby Albarado to place her strategically.
The Thoroughbred Club of America field from the rail out: Knock Twice (Rhonda Collins), Bauhauser (Corey Lanerie), Born To Dance (Pat Day), Crow Jane (Frank Lovato, Jr.), Vicki Vallencourt (Bejarano), Jodys Deelite (Larry Melancon), Don‚t Countess Out (Thompson), Summer Mis (Rene Douglas), Distinctive Code (Shane Sellers), Savorthetime (Albarado) and Bruanna (Cornelio Velasquez).
