Johnson said Perfect Drift would work once more before the Nov. 29 Clark.
Stonecrest Farm's Perfect Drift, third in the Kentucky Derby (gr. I) and winner of the Spiral (gr. II) and Indiana Derby (gr. III), continued his training for the Clark Handicap (gr. II) with a sharp six-furlong breeze Saturday at Churchill Downs' Trackside Louisville training center. The 3-year-old Dynaformer gelding worked five furlongs "handily" over a "fast" track in :59.60, which was easily the best training move at the distance over the six-furlong track. Trainer Murray Johnson said he caught Perfect Drift galloping out six furlongs in "12-and-change" under jockey Joe Deegan."That's a good work," said Johnson. "He likes this track and has always worked well. He worked as planned and we were very happy with it."
