In all, 610 weanlings were sold during the Goffs auction. They grossed 10,474,200 euros ($10,487,816) and averaged 17,171 euros ($17,193).
A Green Desert filly sold for 300,000 euros (approximately $300,390) on Friday as the Goffs November foal sale ended its four-day run in Ireland. The price was the highest for the auction. Richard O'Gorman Bloodstock purchased the bay filly from Cloncahir House Stud, agent for Dr. Peter Harms.The filly's dam, the 13-year-old Glint of Gold mare Sister Golden Hair, finished second in the 1991 Alexander Rennen-Valentin Seibert Memorial in Germany. Sister Golden Hair's other offspring include Alexis, winner of the 2001 Dance Smartly Handicap (gr. IIIT) and the 1999 River Memories Stakes at Woodbine. Alexis also captured the 1999 Prix d'Angerville in France. In addition, Sister Golden Hair produced Freshwater Pearl, winner of the 2000 Silver Flash Two-Year-Old Fillies Stakes in Ireland, and Miss Helga, who scored in the this year's Gerrardstown House Stud Silken Gilder Stakes in Ireland. All three Sister Golden Hair's added-money winners were sired by Alzao.
