Lone Star Sky, Most Feared Set for Lecomte

Graded stakes winners Most Feared and Lone Star Sky lead a field of 11 three-year-old hopefuls set to begin their trail towards the Triple Crown in the $100,000 Lecomte Stakes at Fair Grounds on Saturday.

Both Most Feared and Lone Star Sky will be making their seasonal bow in the one-mile Lecomte.
Lone Star Sky, who won the Miller Genuine Draft Cradle Stakes at River Downs last year, has not started since finishing eighth in the Bessemer Trust Breeders' Cup Juvenile (gr. I) at Arlington Park Oct. 26.

Between those starts last year Lone Star Sky finished second to Sky Mesa in the Lane's End Breeders' Futurity (gr. II) at Churchill Downs. The three-year-old son of Conquistador Cielo is owned by Walter New and trained by Tom Amoss.

Tom Durant's Most Feared has not started since a third-place finish in the Kentucky Jockey Club Stakes (gr. II) won by Soto on Nov. 30 at Churchill Downs. The Commanchero gelding won the Arlington-Washington Futurity (gr.III) and Continental Mile Stakes at Monmouth Park for trainer Ronny Werner and finished sixth in the Juvenile.

The Lecomte, as well as the Tiffany Lass Stakes, will be shown live on Television Games Network.
