Bobby Frankel, who had been planning on running Generous Stakes winner Peace Rules in the El Camino Real Derby, changed his mind at the 11th hour and has opted for the Louisiana Derby instead.Frankel said the son of Jules boarded a plane for New Orleans today, and that Edgar Prado will be aboard.. "The guy from Fair Grounds called, and I decided to go," Frankel said. "It's just as easy to get to Fair Grounds as it is to Golden Gate. I would have had to give everybody five pounds (in the El Camino Real). This way we'll find out just what we've got."I change my mind all the time. It's better than sticking to a schedule. I do what I feel like doing at the time; I go by my impulse."When asked if he was afraid of running Peace Rules against the likes of Kafwain and Badge of Silver, Frankel answered, "Maybe they should be afraid of me. This is a real nice horse."Peace Rules has captured the Generous and Hill Rise Stakes on the grass. Three horses he defeated in the Generous – Man Among Men, Outta Here, and Apalachian Thunder – all came back to win their next start on dirt, two of them in stakes. Peace Rules finished third in a maiden race at Saratoga on the dirt, then was fifth in the slop at the Spa for trainer Gary Contessa. After breaking his maiden on the grass, Frankel purchased him for Edmund Gann. The colt has been working sharply for his return to the dirt.
