Salt Lake Filly Turns In Fastest Quarter Mile Work At OBS

A Salt Lake -- Checkerspot filly zipped a quarter mile in :21 flat to post the fastest work at the distance Saturday during the first session of the under tack video preview for the Ocala Breeders' Sales Company's March select sale of 2-year-olds in training. Old South Farm is the consignor of the bay filly, who is out of a daughter of multiple stakes winner One Fine Lady.

A colt by Sea of Secrets, consigned by Hoppel's Horse & Cattle Co., agent, turned in a quarter in :21 1/5. The dark bay or brown colt is out of Urmia (by Meadowlake), a daughter of multiple graded stakes winner Chaldea.

Nine youngsters shared honors for the session's fastest eighth-mile breeze, stopping the timer in :10 1/5. They were Shinningofthesun, an Alphabet Soup -- Sam's Sylvia colt; a Mr. Greeley -- Saratoga Ack colt; a Tale of the Cat--Sheza Valentine filly; a Storm Boot--Take No Prisoners colt; a Peaks and Valleys--To Be Paid colt; a Good and Tough -- Tunita colt; a Deputy Commander--Constant Companion colt; a Storm Boot -- Anawac colt; and a Wild Rush -- Dancehall Floozy colt.

The video preview was scheduled to continue Sunday morning.

The March sale will be conducted March 18 and 19 in Central Florida, beginning at 11 a.m. (EST) each day.
