Television Games Network will present live coverage of the Dubai World Cup program March 29 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. EST.
Highlighting the telecast from Nad al Sheba Race Course in Dubai will be a special one hour live simulcast of the world's richest race, the $6 million Dubai World Cup (UAE-I) on Fox Sports Net West 2 from noon to 1 p.m..
In addition to the Dubai World Cup, a 1 1/4-miles race for horses 3-years-old and up, TVG will also air live coverage of the $2 million, Group I Dubai Golden Shaheen (six-furlong sprint for horses three-and-up) and the Group I, $2 million Dubai Duty Free (one-mile turf race for older horses). The Group I, $2 million Dubai Sheema Classic (1 1/2-miles turf race for older horses), and the Group II, $2 million UAE Derby (1 1/4-miles for three-year-olds) will be shown on tape delay.
A full menu of wagering on all except the UAE Derby will be offered by TVG through Arlington Park. Advance wagering will be available through TVG beginning Friday, March 28.
Thirteen U.S.-based horses are currently in Dubai, including the Todd Pletcher-trained Harlan's Holiday who will be running in the Dubai World Cup. Joining Harlan's Holiday in the race will be Blue Burner; the Godolphin Racing quartet of Grandera, Moon Ballad, Sulamani and Grundlefoot; Nayef, who won last year's Dubai Sheema Classic; the French mare Aquarelliste; the Japanese-based Eagle Café; and the Argentinean Sei Mi.
Filly Xtra Heat heads of contingent of U.S. horses in the Dubai Golden Shaheen. Third in last year's race, Xtra Heat will be joined by My Cousin Matt and Captain Squire.
