Linda Ann Conley McGaughey, who worked in a number of racing jobs over the last four decades, died March 28 in Lexington. A Miami native, she was 59.
McGaughey's career started with The Jockey Club in 1961 in New York. She later worked for Fasig-Tipton Co. before coming to Central Kentucky in the late 1970s to help Joe Johnson III set up Kenington Sales Co.
Following her stay at Kenington, in which she was vice president,
McGaughey became a bloodstock agent and later joined Tattersalls. In her role for the English sale firm, she assisted consignors in selling horses in Europe.
McGaughey's survivors include her husband, Neal, and four stepchildren.
Services will be Tuesday, April 1, at 10:00 a.m. at W.R. Milward on 159 North Broadway in Lexington.
