"He galloped out well, so I thought it was a good work," Hollendorfer said. "I told him to go between 1:00 and 1:01. Even if he had gone slower, I would have been happy."
Trainer Jerry Hollendorfer remained non-committal on whether Coolmore Lexington Stakes (gr. II) runner-up Eye of the Tiger would be entered in Saturday's Kentucky Derby after the colt worked five furlongs in 1:00 3/5 at Churchill Downs Monday. "I have to talk it over with (owner) John Gunther," Hollendorfer said. "I am not leaning one way or another. We will weigh all the factors and make a decision later today or early tomorrow. This is what we wanted to do. We came here to work and see how he liked the track and to see if the opportunity presents itself. If we should wait (for a future race) then we will."Hollendorfer expressed satisfaction with Eye of the Tiger's breeze under jockey Eibar Coa.
