Eleven-year-old Ridgewood Pearl (Indian Ridge -- Ben's Pearl, by Tap On Wood) produced five foals, four of which are named and of racing age. Her youngest offspring is an unnamed Rainbow Quest yearling colt.
Ridgewood Pearl, who won the 1995 Breeders' Cup Mile (gr. IT), died giving birth to a dead Bahri foal last week.Bred by Sean Coughlan of Ireland and raced by his wife, Anne, Ridgewood Pearl was a group I winner in England, France, and Ireland, and a champion in the latter two. She captured the Mile in her final racetrack appearance and was retired with a European Horse of the Year title to her credit and a record of six wins from eight starts and earnings of $1,179,301.
