Attraction Remains Unbeaten with Queen Mary Win

The Duke of Roxburghe's homebred Attraction remained unbeaten as the 2-year-old filly defeated 13 of her peers in Wednesday's Queen Mary Stakes (Eng-III) at Ascot. Attraction, the 13-8 favorite, had the lead for the entirety of the five-furlong race, and finished three lengths ahead of Sheikh Mohammed's Catstar (Storm Cat--Advancing Star). Mark Johnston trains the winner who covered the distance in 1:46.

Attraction broke her maiden by five lengths at Nottingham in April. In May she won an allowance race by two lengths, and on June 4 she won the Hilary Needler Trophy at Beverley by 2 1/2 lengths.

The Duke of Roxburghe bred Attraction (Efisio--Flirtation, by Pursuit of Love) in England in the name of his Floors Farming. He also bred Brave Act, a multiple graded stakes winner in the United States.
