Gary Player to Golf for TRF

The Board of Governors of the Lexington Country Club is honored to be hosting an 18-Hole Exhibition Match between Gary Player of Johannesburg, South Africa, and Buddy Harston of Lexington, Kentucky. The Exhibition Match will be held on Tuesday, July 1, 2003 at 2:15 p.m.

During this unique event, Gary Player will become an honorary member of the Lexington Country Club in recognition of his generous contributions to the Thoroughbred Retirement Foundation.

Buddy Harston has been the Lexington Country Club Pro for eighteen years. His honors include being the Kentucky PGA Player of the Year three times (1989, 1999, 2000), the Kentucky Open Champion in 2000 and the Kentucky PGA Champion in 1988 and 1991. He recently qualified for the 2003 Senior US Open.

Gary Player is known as one of the most successful international golfers of all-time. Mr. Player turned professional in 1953, joined the PGA Tour in 1957 and joined the Senior Tour in 1983.
