Krone Could Return During Hollywood Meet

(from track notes)
Hall of Fame jockey Julie Krone, sidelined since March with a back injury suffered in a spill at Santa Anita, galloped horses Sunday at Hollywood Park and hopes to return before the end of the meet in July.

"She hopes to be back around the week of the Hollywood Gold Cup (July 13)," said agent Brian Beach. "She broke two transverse process bones in her lower back and tore several muscles in the hip area. The muscles took longer to recover."

"She's getting ready for Del Mar," added Beach of the 39-year-old jockey. "She's never ridden at that meet. She lives near there in Carlsbad and worked horses there two summers for Richard Mandella."
