Ruler's Court to Make Stakes Debut in Juvenile Championship

Darley Stud Management Inc.'s Ruler's Court, one of several promising juvenile winners for trainer Eoin Harty, will likely make his stakes debut in the $100,000 Hollywood Juvenile Championship Stakes (gr. III) at Hollywood Park on June 19, according to Alex Hassinger, Harty's California-based assistant.

The Kentucky-bred son of Doneraile Court worked five furlongs in 1:00 3/5 handily over Santa Anita's fast main track on Tuesday morning with jockey David Flores in the irons.

"He is nice, isn't he?" Hassinger said of the $400,000 2-year-old in training purchase.

Ruler's Court broke his maiden by two lengths in a five-furlong test on June 11 at Hollywood and earned $26,400 for his maiden victory.

Hassinger also reported that Tizdubai, a full sister to 2000's Horse of the Year Tiznow, emerged from her maiden victory in good order, despite grabbing a quarter during the running of the 5 1/2-furlong event.

"She'll be fine," Hassinger said. "We saw some blood and we always panic when we see blood, but it's not that bad."

Hassinger said several options are being considered for the California-bred daughter of Cee's Tizzy, who was purchased by Darley for $950,000 as a weanling at Keeneland's November sale in 2001.

Also on the Tuesday worktab for Harty was Flushing Meadows, a four and a half-length winner of his five-furlong debut on June 22, who went 1:00 4/5, handily.
