Edgar Prado sat chilly aboard Well Fancied for the first two-thirds of the $113,100 Evan Shipman, then pulled away from the field in the homestretch to win the 1 1/16-mile New York-bred stakes race in 1:40 4/5 on closing day Sunday at Belmont Park. Racing moves to Saratoga Race Course in Saratoga Springs, N.Y. on Wednesday. The 36-day Spa meeting will conclude on Labor Day, Sept. 1. Belmont Park will reopen on Friday, Sept. 5. Well Fancied earned $67,860 for owners Sanford Goldfarb, Stewart Hoffman and Jonathan Flesig. The victory was worth $5.60 for a $2 win wager.
