Falbrav Scores Two-Length Win in Juddmonte International

The well-traveled Falbrav scored an impressive two-length win in Tuesday's Juddmonte International Stakes (Eng-I) at York. Two American-bred runners Magistretti and Nayef were second and third, respectively.

The Irish-bred Falbrav covered the 1 1/4-mile distance over good-to-firm turf in 2:06.84 under jockey Darryll Holland after stalking the early pace set by Izdiham. Falbrav disputed fourth early before moving up to third as the field of eight entered the straight and he continued to move forward as the group neared the wire.

Falbrav, now with trainer Luca Cumani in Newmarket, England, after being trained in Italy up to the end of last year, won four times in his home country and then took the Japan Cup (Jpn-I).

This year, Falbrav took the Prix d'Ispahan (Fr-I) at Longchamp and then defeated a talented field in the Coral Eclipse Stakes (Eng-I) at Sandown before finishing fifth in the King George VI and Queen Elizabeth Diamond Stakes (Eng-I).

The Fairy King bay horse was produced from the Slewpy mare Gift of the Night and was bred in Ireland by Azienda Agricola Francesca.
