U.S. Owner Buys Top Priced Filly at Deauville

U.S. owner Lansdon Robbins paid 105,000 Euros for a yearling filly by Vettori to top Tuesday's session of the August Yearling sale conducted by Agence Francaise in Deauville, France.

Purchased on Robbins' behalf by Guislain Bozo of Meridian International, the filly was consigned by Haras des Capucines. Produced from the Linamix mare Salvinaxia, the filly is a half-sister to Via Milano, a Singspiel filly who finished second in Saturday's Prix du Calvados (Fr-III).

The sales company reported 63 of the 74 horses offered Tuesday were sold for a gross of E2,623,000 and an average price of E41,635. During the corresponding session one year ago, 52 horses averaged E32,558 from a gross of E1,693,000.

The sale concludes Wednesday.
