A 20-year-old son of Storm Bird, Storm Cat was North America's leading sire of progeny earnings in 1999 and 2000. He ranked 16th in 2001 and fifth in 2002. He was 17th this year through Sept. 2.
Storm Cat, the most expensive Thoroughbred stallion in the world, will stand for a $500,000 fee for the third year in a row in 2004."We're pleased be able to hold his fee at $500,000 and continue to have more demand than the supply of services that are available to sell to that demand," said Ric Waldman, a consultant to W.T. Young's Overbrook Farm near Lexington, where Storm Cat stands.
