Grade II Winner Seeking Daylight Retired

Edward Evans' homebred grade II winner Seeking Daylight has been retired from racing and will be sent from trainer Mark Hennig's New York barn to the owner's Spring Hill Farm near Casanova, Va. No decision has been reached as to where the 5-year-old son of Seeking the Gold will enter stud.

Seeking Daylight suffered a condylar fracture shortly after winning the Brooklyn Handicap (gr. II) in June of 2002 and hasn't raced since. He captured the historic race by 8 1/4 lengths.

Seeking Daylight, who won four of seven races and earned $244,710, is a half-brother to grade I winner Hedonist and to Canadian major winner Zaha. His dam, Play all Day (by Steady Growth), also is a Canadian stakes winner.
