Grand Lodge Filly Tops Final Session of Orby Sale in Ireland

A Grand Lodge filly brought the top price of 500,000 euros Wednesday as the Goffs Orby yearling sale ended in Ireland. Bloodstock agent Anthony Stroud purchased her from Loughbrown Stud. He told the Racing Post that she "goes to Michael Jarvis and is for one of his long-standing clients." The filly was produced from the Indian Ridge mare Zooming, who is a half-sister to French group II winner Zipping (by Zafonic) and French group III winner Zelding (by Warning).

During the auction's two sessions, 332 horses were sold for a gross of 31,656,000 euros, an average of 95,349 euros, and a median of 65,000 euros. Last year's comparable figures were 350 sold for a gross of 35,978,000 euros, an average of 102,794 euros, and a median of 62,000 euros.

The Challenge sale is Wednesday.
