"Seabiscuit" Nominated for Hollywood Movie of the Year

Laura Hillenbrand's best-selling book-turned movie "Seabiscuit: An American Legend" has been nominated for "Hollywood Movie of the Year" honors, according to the Hollywood Reporter. The movie of the year award winner will be announced during the two-day Hollywood Film Festival at the "Hollywood Awards Gala Ceremony" on Oct. 20 at the Beverly Hilton Hotel.

In the movie of the year category, "Seabiscuit" is up against movies such as, "Dirty Pretty Things"; "Finding Nemo"; "Lost in Translation"; and "Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl".

Two "Seabiscuit" actors are up for "Hollywood Actor of the Year" awards. Tobey Maguire and Jeff Bridges. Maguire and Bridges are nominated alongside Johnny Depp; Javier Bardem; and Bill Murray.

In the supporting actor category, Chris Cooper and William H. Macey are up against Robert Duvall; Geoffery Rush; and Rawiri Paratene.

The nominees were chosen by a panel of industry insiders and the winners will be chosen by film fans at voting polls at the Yahoo! Movies website (http://movies.yahoo.com/movieawards) and at Entertainment Tonight's website (http://etonline.com ).
