Printemps and Seinne are stakes winners this year.A fee for Hussonet, whose dam, Sacahuista (by Raja Baba), earned an Eclipse Award, will be announced later.
Hussonet, whose daughter Wild Spirit won the Sept. 13 Ruffian Handicap (gr. I), will stand at Tom Simon's Vinery near Lexington in 2004 under a lease arrangement with stallion owner John Messara's Arrowfield Stud. Located in Australia, Arrowfield purchased 12-year-old Hussonet outright from his Chilean owners earlier this year. He currently is standing at Arrowfield.A Kentucky-bred son of Mr. Prospector who raced in North America, Hussonet was sent in 1994 to Chile, where he became a leading stallion. He is represented by nine champions and some 30 stakes winners, including such North American grade II winners as imports Printemps and Seinne."It is no exaggeration to say he has been a phenomenon at stud, and with the recent success he's had here in the U.S., the time was right to introduce him to American breeders," said Vinery general manager Bates Newton.
