Dettori to Ride Sulamani; Islington Headed to Filly & Mare Turf

Following victories in the Arlington Million (gr. IT) and Turf Classic (gr. IT) under David Flores and Jerry Bailey, respectively, Sulamani will be reunited with regular rider Frankie Dettori for the Breeders' Cup Turf (gr. IT).

"After the Champion Stakes (at Newmarket), I'm going to Canada to ride Hi Dubai in the E.P. Taylor Stakes (Can-IT), and then I'll probably head down to Santa Anita," Dettori told the Sporting Life. "We know Sulamani is a good horse who stays and he should be right there. I've won the Turf twice and three Breeders' Cup races. It'd be nice to win four."

Meanwhile, trainer Michael Stoute said in the Daily Telegraph that two-time Yorkshire Oaks (Eng-I) winner Islington would definitely be pointed for the Breeders' Cup Filly & Mare Turf (gr. I), a race in which she finished third last year. In her last start, she was beaten in a three-horse photo by High Chaparral and Falbrav in the Irish Champion Stakes (Ire-I).

"I can say that she has pleased us since she ran in Ireland," Stoute said. "We're hopeful, as last year in the same race she just missed the (break), but she still ran very well."
