Dream About the Choice in Princess Elizabeth

(from Woodbine report)
A good trip for Dream About in Sunday's $250,000 Princess Elizabeth Stakes (Can-II) at Woodbine could mean a trip of a lifetime to California for the Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies (gr. I) Oct. 25 at Santa Anita Park.

Coming off consecutive romping victories, including an 8 ΒΌ-length score in the Mazarine Breeders' Cup (Can-II) on Sept. 20, the 2-year-old daughter of Cherokee Run is making quite a name for herself at the Toronto oval.

But before a decision can be made in terms of a run in the Breeders' Cup, the focus for owner Arosa Farms and trainer Josie Carroll is this weekend's 1 1/16-mile Princess Elizabeth.

The 58th running of the two-turn event boasts seven starters, including Silver Bird, fresh off a six-length score and My Vintage Port, a daughter of Porto Forcios, who savored victory in last month's Muskoka Stakes.

With $209,430 in earnings from three career starts and two head-turning performances, Dream About will undoubtedly be the one to beat on Sunday.

Her most recent training effort certainly won't hurt her chances either.

"It was a strong work the other day (a "bullet" five furlongs in 1:00 1/5, breezing, on Oct. 1)," said Carroll, who also sends out Oblivious. "We bought her in June and she's done a great deal in a short period of time."

If all goes according to plan, the dark bay could make her next start against some of the world's top 2-year-olds, south of the border.

"She certainly deserves to get some consideration for the Breeders' Cup," offered Carroll. "She's a good horse."
