On the Fritz proved she was anything but when she rallied wide down the lane to score a head victory over Brown Eyed Beauty in Thursday's Clark County Stakes at Keeneland. Paige's Boo was 2 1/2 lengths back for third. The winner covered the 5 1/2 furlong turf distance in 1:02.92.In the Clark County, On the Fritz settled near the inside behind early pacesetters Tangier Sound and Crystal Sea through fractions of :21.14 and :44.59 before edging closer to the leaders as the 10-horse field neared the final turn. Once in the lane, On the Fritz split horses, going four wide in the lane, then while to the inside of Brown Eyed Beauty, wore her down under strong handling from jockey Robby Albarado.The winner returned $13.60, $6.80, and $4.80. Brown Eyed Beauty returned $5.00 and $4.40, while Paige's Boo returned $16.20. The $2 exacta paid $72, while the $2 trifecta totaled $1,410.80.
