Valley View Forecast Anything but Clear

The $100,000-added Valley View (gr. IIIT) has attracted 11 well-matched fillies set to contest the 1 1/16 mile on the Keeneland turf course, led by Waterville Lake Stable's Derrianne.

Derrianne was a facile winner of the Martha Washington Breeders' Cup at Pimlico in her American debut after a successful French campaign. The roan daughter of Cozzene is trained by top turf conditioner Christophe Clement and will be ridden by Brice Blanc. Her tactical speed and solid turn of foot should serve her well in this large field.

Dyna Da Wyna exits a victory in the DeBartolo Oaks at Louisiana Downs. The WinStar Farm color-bearer calls the Elliott Walden stable home. Hall of Fame rider Pat Day has ridden the daughter of Doc's Leader three times and posed for pictures after every race.

Herman Sarkowsky's Youcan'ttakeme posted a clever victory at last year's fall meeting. She spent a successful summer at Emerald Downs, winning four stakes including the Washington Breeders' Cup Oaks. Her regular rider, Gary Baze, who has won over 3,200 races in his career, will take the reins once again for trainer Grant Forster.

Trainer Mitch Shirota will saddle Andrena Van Doren's Shaconage. The daughter of El Prado has won her last two starts including the Ontario Colleen Stakes at Woodbine. She has a strong late kick that is effective on this turf course. Cornelio Velasquez has the call.
